David Woodward – Director
I’m so proud of my team at Tas Valley Fire (UK) Ltd because together we are committed to keeping our customers and their communities fire safe.
Fire fighting has been my lifelong passion, ever since I tagged along to an introductory session at the auxiliary fire service in King’s Lynn back in the 1960s. Seeing the crucial and exciting work the firemen carried out inspired me and by 1967 I’d joined the Norfolk Fire Service officially.
During my 35 years in the Fire Brigade I worked across Norwich and south Norfolk, working my way up to become a fire officer. It was a wonderful and richly rewarding career, so when the time came for me to retire, I had no doubt what my next step would be.
I began work as a fire consultant soon afterwards, offering fire training, extinguisher service and fire risk assessment inspections for my customers. They had the peace of mind that I knew the regulations inside out and I’d had years of first-hand experience to inform my advice. It was with great excitement that I embraced the opportunity to acquire the established business, Tas Valley Fire (UK) Ltd from a former auxiliary fire service comrade and I’m delighted by how far we’ve come.
Our business is built on trust and transparency. My customers know they’ll get the right advice for the right price, with no hidden extras. Like me, my entire team believe in providing a friendly, helpful service and we’re always happy to answer any questions.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me cycling round Norfolk and beyond, scoring goals for my hockey team or cheering on Norwich City FC. I’ve been known to cook a mean BBQ, throw excellent parties and regale everyone with tales of my sideline as an events organiser in the 60s. I love good grub, good beer and my lovely family – plus our cats Frankie and Charlie, who rule the roost.
Wayne Storey – Fire Protection Engineer
As my right-hand man, Wayne has a wealth of skills and I simply couldn’t do without him.
He joined the business five years ago, coming in from a warehouse background, and is incredibly capable and talented. His keen eye for detail means that Wayne always carries out his work to an excellent professional standard and works very hard to get the job done.
He’s now a fully qualified fire extinguisher engineer and has taken on the challenge of learning all about fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire training.
Away from work, Wayne loves a game of snooker (he reckons he’s quite good), watching the latest blockbusters and taking his beloved dog for a walk.
Beverley Woodward – Administration
My wife Beverley keeps Tas Valley Fire (UK) Ltd running super smoothly.
She worked at the Fire Service headquarters in Hethersett before leaving to join our company full time and everyone knows she’s the woman to go to with any questions.
Not only does she spend her days deciphering my scribbles to provide flawless reports and assessments, her incredible wealth of administration knowledge means she’s a whizz with the books, letters and e-mail too. Her support and hard work mean the company continues to flourish – and we all know what we’re doing.
Like me, Bev loves her sport. We cheer on NCFC together, she plays badminton and joins me on many cycling adventures. She’s the one who has to make it happen when I decide to throw dinner parties, BBQs and events. It’s a good job she likes a challenge!
Kate White – PR & Marketing
My daughter Kate spent 15 years working in consumer journalism in London before returning to Norfolk to start her own PR and copywriting business, Front Page Media UK.
A dab hand at words, she’s completely rewritten our website, got us into social media and writes our blogs. She’s always got new ideas about where Tas Valley Fire (UK) Ltd can go next and it’s great to get a chance to work together at last.
When she’s not typing up a storm, Kate likes to get crafty with her sewing projects, is mad about the cinema and loves anything vintage – especially cute little tea rooms.
David ‘Nipper’ Clarke – Man Friday
When we need an extra pair of hands, we can count on Nipper – a man of many talents.
Always happy to lend support, he’ll join the team for specialist jobs and provide plenty of laughs for free. Practical and professional, Nipper is a very useful man to know and a much-loved member of our extended team.
